Snippets from Christmas Eve.

After we came home from the big family party, my little family snuggled up in bed to read one of my all time favorite books "The Polar Express." Growing up, my dad would read this to us every Christmas Eve. Now that I'm older I cry almost every time I read the book. I don't know why. It just fills me with memories of love, family, and Christmas magic.

Now my little Violet and Rockwell can grow up enjoying the book every Christmas Eve too.

As we lay snuggled on Violet's bed (yes, even Rockwell was awake at 10:00) I had a moment of overwhelming love and gratitude. My family, my precious little family, means more to me than anything in the world. I was so happy and grateful for the small but meaningful moment. I ran and grabbed my camera. Rock was in my arms and I snapped the photo of Devan and Violet.

My life is blessed. God is good.

Don't hate us....

...for being the hottest family in Nerd-Ville on Christmas day.

When I put on the Polar Bear sweater Violet said to me "Oooh, I love your sweater. It's so cute."

Bridget. Cancer Survivor.

We laughed the whole photo shoot. We really did. Bridget is just that funny. And fun. And fabulous. And wild (in a good way). I always love a client who isn't afraid to jump, sing, and laugh hysterically on command.

She is an inspiration to me because at such a young age she was diagnosed with cancer. But she beat it. No easy feat I know (my dad was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2008 and we watched him battle for his life).

Despite living with the fear of her cancer returning, Bridget manages to always smile and brighten lives everywhere. She is a positive optimist. I admire that so much!

Not only does her photography gift touch the lives of others (she does some very special pro bono work for local families) but her beautiful smile and spirit touch lives as well.

I just adore you Bridget. Stay strong:):)

Violet. Age 4.

Little Violet, you are 4 years old and growing up too fast. The other day I asked you "Why do you talk so much?" and you said "Because I love you and Jesus made me that way."

My friend called the other day and you answered the phone. The voice on the line said "Hello, is your mommy there?" And you screamed...."BBBBEEEEEECCCKKKKKKKKYYYYY!!" Yes, you call me Becky. You never call me mom.

Once you asked me "Would you like me to call you Becky or Rebekah?" I said "I would like you to call me Mom." But you still call me Becky.

When I put your hair in a bun you call it a "bop-she-bop."

When I change the baby's diaper you always say "LET ME SEE THE POOP!"

You like to dress up the dog in your clothes.

You want a "REAL RED FISH for Christmas. Not a fake one. A real one."

Auntie Tara is your favorite and when you get mad at me you say "You are not my favorite mom anymore. Tara is my favorite mom."

You love the color pink. And you don't like to color purple. Sorry I named you 'Violet'.

You are my little beauty. My girl. And I love you.
