David and Valerie

So yes, it's true. I should be paying David and Valerie for letting me take their pictures. Let's just say they are model material (as I'm sure you can easily see). In light of recent events (the passing of my father-in-law) I was a little hesitant to go ahead with their scheduled enagagement shoot. But I didn't want to let them down. I talked with my husband and he said that Dad wouldn't want me to sit around and sulk all day. So we said a prayer and I felt like everything was going to go great. And it did. I truly adore David and Valerie. Valerie is the sweetest, most down-to-earth person you will ever meet. And David is truly an inspiration. They are totally hilarious together and they couldn't stop laughing and playing with eachother. Such a great couple. So in love and so awesome! Thanks you two for being so much fun and brightening my day.

My Hero

Wow. This is not an easy thing to do. My husband's sweet father passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning. He had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and though we knew it would eventually end his life, we weren't expecting it to happen so soon. The past couple of days have been a whirlwind of emotions and it almost doesn't feel like he is gone. He truly was one of my heros. He was such a sweet man. So humble and kind. And one the the most generous people I know. I feel like I have so much to say, but for some reason I can't "say" it. I can only feel it. I loved him like my own father and he will be greatly missed.

This photo was taken about 1 month ago. We wanted to get a picture of him before his hair fell out from the chemotherapy. And my favorite picture of all time! This was my husband's Dad and Mom on their honeymoon in Venice, Italy. They got engaged after knowing eachother for only 1 week. And they've been happily married for 40 years! For their honeymoon they went to Europe, bought a Mercedes, and drove all over the country for about a month. Isn't that so romantic?!
I just want to thank all family and friends for being so loving and supportive. Thank you for the flowers, the cards, the phone calls, the emails, the hugs....we are just so overwhelmed and so grateful for it all.

My naughty little girl...

So she doesn't look naughty. But let me assure you, she was quite naughty for these pictures. I managed to snag a few where she wasn't scowling at me. Or crying. Or arching her back. Or playing with my car keys. Or chomping on some bubblegum (the keys and the bubblegum made her happy for about 10 seconds) But for some reason the little turquoise chair was freaking her out. She was scared to sit on it (I'm not sure why). Maybe because it was a little bit high off the ground and she felt trapped. Like she couldn't get off it. Anyways, I wanted some colorful pictures of Violet to put in my portfolio to show clients how fun COLOR can be. So bless Violet's little heart for being my little model once again! I love my naughty little girl!! She makes me laugh!!

Edwin and Katsumi

This was such a fun wedding!! Edwin and Katsumi are such great people and so much fun to be around. I absolutely adore Katsumi! She is always laughing and always has a smile on her face. We had a blast shooting around the temple because Edwin and Katsumi have such great personalities. They kept whispering things to each other in Spanish. And then they would laugh. I kept pretending I didn't know what they were saying. But I speak spanish, so I understood everything. JUST KIDDING!! I don't speak spanish! Their reception was so much fun! Full of dancing, good food, dancing, and more dancing. It was awesome!!
